RGC Theatre was founded in 2021 by Ro Gavin, following more than a decade of experience both onstage and behind the scenes with a variety of New England theatre companies. Seeking to establish a space where creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity are foundational values, Gavin launched RGC Theatre—originally Ro Gavin Collaborative Theatre—as a bold new outlet for the arts in New Hampshire. The company is dedicated to presenting theatre that is unconstrained by tradition and open to all voices, offering artists an environment where ingenuity and authenticity are encouraged.
Since its founding, RGC Theatre has produced over 15 mainstage productions across more than eight venues, remaining steadfast in its mission to bring art to the people and people to the art. The company has collaborated with nearly 400 artists from both professional and community theatre backgrounds, fostering a diverse and dynamic creative network throughout the region.
RGC Theatre’s commitment to artistic excellence and innovation has been recognized with four New Hampshire Theatre Awards: in 2023 for Outstanding Sound Design for a Community Play and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Community Play, and in 2024 for Leading Performer in a Community Musical and Supporting Performer in a Community Play.
Looking ahead, RGC Theatre continues to expand its impact by championing underrepresented perspectives, challenging conventional norms, and creating theatrical experiences that inspire connection, dialogue, and change. The company remains committed to its founding vision: cultivating a fearless, inclusive, and artist-driven theatre culture in New Hampshire and beyond.
