Make Yourself Comfortable
Bring Your Own Seating or Use One of Ours!
PPAF events are accessible to ALL and we do not sell tickets. While we do ask for, and appreciate, a suggested donation of $5-$10 at the gate, this is entirely optional and no one is ever turned away. Instead of giving at the gate, you may also make an online General Admission Donation prior to coming to the Park. Every dollar donated is put to use making Prescott Park Arts Festival the most accessible, outdoor performance venue it can be! To reiterate, while they are appreciated, neither a gate donation nor an online General Admission Donation is required to attend a Festival event.
Audience members are welcome to bring their own chairs or blankets to events.
Chairs are also available for rent on site (1 for $6, 2 for $10), as are VIP tables or blankets.
VIP Tables & Blankets
VIP tables are located in the VIP Seating Area in the stage center area and have a direct view of the events. As our events have large crowds, VIP tables are ready and waiting for you and allow you to avoid searching for a good spot to watch our shows. Tables seat four people maximum per City of Portsmouth.
Tables/Blankets are non-refundable, but if an event is cancelled due to weather or another reason, they may be transferred to another similar show, i.e. concert to concert, musical to musical, movie to movie.
Reserved blankets are located at the front of the blankets-only area in front of the stage. No chairs are allowed in this area. Patrons may also bring their own blankets. Patron with lawn chairs may set them up directly behind the blankets-only area. Please be mindful of the size of your chairs and blankets, as we want everyone to be able to enjoy Festival events!
Please note: The City of Portsmouth has mandated that unattended blankets and chairs may not be left unattended in Prescott Park before 3 pm, or 4 hours before the start of an event. Unattended blankets and chairs will be removed. No tarps are allowed on the lawn at any time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Additionally, if another performance is going on within this time period, we ask that you be respectful of those patrons and refrain from placing your blankets/chairs during the performance.
What to Bring
Everyone is welcome to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to sit on to enjoy any of our events throughout the summer. For movie nights, you might want to even bring a pillow, too! Coming from out of town or don’t want to worry about finding your own spot? Check out our options for VIP table and blanket reservations in front of the stage. We’ll have a spot ready for you when you get here!
Picnics and coolers are allowed and encouraged, as long as you help us keep the Park clean when you’re done. We also have some great food options at The Prop which offers lots of tasty snacks like hotdogs, hamburgers, charcuterie plates, popcorn, candy, drinks and more! Please remember, no alcohol is allowed in Prescott Park.
On those hot summer days we recommend bringing hats and sunscreen, since some areas of the Park are less shaded than others. For evening events, bug spray is sometimes necessary too.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we’ll do our best to help you out.
