Prescott Park Arts Festival

Summer 2021 Update

Dear Friends,

First, a sincere note of thanks to YOU our Festival family for your incredible support and unending love for PPAF. Your words have meant more to us over this last year than you can imagine. These have been challenging times for us all and we are so grateful to be on the other side. We appreciate your patience and your flexibility in anticipation of our return back home to Prescott Park this summer on the Wilcox mainstage.

The cancellation of the 2020 season was devastating for our organization, impacting the community in ways we could not have anticipated, and leaving a gap in the otherwise vibrant arts and culture scene in the Seacoast. We are battling our way back to a full season, but it will not be without its budget challenges. This season will still be a time for transition, but thanks to your support all of the important elements of the Festival will return.

Thanks to the generosity of Wilcox, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is going to be amazing! The musical is fully cast, rehearsals have begun in earnest, and the set will be delivered next week. It’s going to be a can’t miss production!

We know you are anxious for updates on the River House Restaurant Concert Series. The best news of all is that the series will return this summer with some old friends, some rising stars, and some incredible Seacoast talent. We will announce the River House Restaurant Concert Series within the next two weeks. We know this is later than usual, but planning this season has been challenging in more ways than we can say. BUT, we are nearly there and we know you won’t be disappointed!

And, yes the movie series will be back with the support of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital! Starting in early July in the Park and maybe even a few pop ups inspired by last year’s drive-in movie series. We will also continue our community showcases and partnerships throughout the season to help elevate the entire arts and culture scene in the Seacoast. Camp ENCORE! will return with three sessions, six performances, and a host of talented Seacoast youth!

Thank you for standing by us this last year. Your continued support will be critical to our success this summer because it simply would not be the same without you. We are very proud to continue the Festival tradition and so glad to be back home in beautiful Prescott Park.

Along with the announcement of the concert lineup, we will share our reopening plans and protocols developed in partnership with the City of Portsmouth. Please stay tuned! And, if you have questions, please ask – we are happy to be in touch with our supporters to answer any questions or concerns.

Again, we appreciate your patience and flexibility.

In gratitude,

Courtney Perkins, Executive Director
