The Dip is a Seattle-based Rhythm and Blues band that is known for its poignant songwriting, detailed arrangements, and vintage sound. Featuring a three-piece horn section, the group’s music harkens back to earlier soul and funk influences while hinting at the jazz foundations that brought the band’s members together.
With a distinct sonic character that has drawn in millions of listeners to date, The Dip released their latest, fourth full-length studio album ‘Love Direction’ in July 2024. It is their second with Dualtone Records, the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Sticking With It’ which landed at #1 on the Billboard Current R&B Albums Chart.
The band headlined and sold out shows at iconic venues across the country last year including San Francisco’s legendary Fillmore, Washington DC’s 9:30 Club, Webster Hall in New York, Austin’s historic Scoot Inn, two nights at Thalia Hall in Chicago and two hometown shows at The Showbox in Seattle. They have also had the opportunity to support new friends like The Black Pumas and The Teskey Brothers, while also appearing at major festivals including Bonnaroo and Outside Lands.

with Tre. Charles
Tre. Charles is an alternative/indie soul artist blending emotive vocals, introspective lyrics, and atmospheric, soul-rooted production. A nomadic, self-taught troubadour raised across the East Coast, his sound reflects a life shaped by constant movement, culture, and emotional searching—forever rooted in soul.
Often compared to Sampha, Hozier, and James Blake, alongside classic influences like Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, and Lauryn Hill, his music is known for its immersive, reverb-rich “wave therapy”
quality—cinematic, intimate, and emotionally grounding.
Rejecting the idea that formal accreditation defines artistic accomplishment, Charles has built his career through authenticity and impact, performing on major stages including Newport Jazz Festival, TEDx, and NPR features. His work and presence have earned co-signs from GRAMMY-winning artists such as Son Little, Tank and the Bangas, and Cedric Burnside, as well as hip-hop legends Digable Planets and Arrested Development, with whom he has toured as direct support on sold-out runs. Endorsed by D’Angelico Guitars and Supro, his artistry has reached global audiences across festivals, venues, and conferences alike.
With projects like Currently. (2023) and Here We Are. (2025), Tre. Charles continues to create music centered on vulnerability, the process, and emotional truth—now entering a new era of expanded vision and artistry.
