Welcome to the Sunny Day Campaign!
One thing that this dark season has reminded us is that summer is a state of mind. Each of us, at any time, can imagine a warm August evening in a favorite spot on the Festival lawn, surrounded by blankets of friends and neighbors. These shared experiences of seeing your first performance, kids climbing the whale statue, or playing at the Lego table are what PPAF is all about. Today, we are kicking off the Sunny Day Campaign by asking for your support because we cannot wait to make new memories with you when the sun comes up on next season.
The decision to cancel our 2020 season was a heartbreaking one, but as the Festival operates under a trust that offers no ability to limit crowd sizes in Prescott Park, it was also a necessary one. It meant the elimination of virtually all the Festival’s budgeted revenue for 2020, and the foreseeable future. Though we received some much-needed emergency funding through the CARES Act, there is no sugar coating the challenge that lies ahead.
Today, we are full of gratitude for the small group of visionary People for the Park donors listed below. These Sunny Day Leaders have stepped forward with a $75,000 matching gift challenge to help PPAF launch the Sunny Day Campaign! Funds raised during this campaign will help support the Festival through this canceled season into preparation for a 2021 season that itself still holds many unknowns. We ask you to donate as generously as you are able, and your support will be matched dollar for dollar!
Since 1974, the Seacoast community has breathed life into PPAF, and the Festival has returned the favor. PPAF serves as a powerful economic driver for local businesses and restaurants and provides a joyful gathering space where our community has made so many shared memories. In a year when nothing seems “normal,” we take great pride in the fact that the mutual support between this community and the Festival has continued through partnerships with other area nonprofits for the “Lost Summer” Drive-In Movie series and a collaboration with 3 Bridges Yoga on Wellness Wednesdays.

Your gift will directly foster this type of collaborative, community-minded, and high-quality arts programming in the future. We will get through this, the sun will come up tomorrow, and we look forward to coming together and celebrating in Prescott Park when it does!
