WHAT IS DRAG QUEEN STORY HOUR?
Created by Michelle Tea and RADAR Productions in San Francisco, DQSH now happens in San Francisco, LA, New York and beyond! Drag Queen Story Hour captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity in childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, and where dress- up is real.
ABOUT OUR QUEEN, RHONDA
Do you like cartwheels!? Handstands!? Splits!? Well, Rhonda can’t do any of that, however, this exuberant queen straight outta Rollinsford knows how to entertain. Children and adults alike are left in awe when this glamorous, giant woman walks into the room, and no, it’s not because her hips are taking the door frame with her. Rhonda firmly believes that life is too short and that all of us should be spending less time blending our makeup and more time out there living our truth.
