CANCELED: 36th ANNUAL WOKQ CHOWDER FESTIVAL
Summer Social planned in its place!
Questions About Visiting?
Visit our FAQ pageAfter a two year hiatus, Prescott Park Arts Festival was excited to bring the WOKQ Chowder Festival back to Portsmouth this summer. Unfortunately, that won’t be possible quite yet. The community still faces many challenges from a shortage of supplies and staffing, and our beloved local restaurants are some of the hardest hit. While many restaurants expressed enthusiasm for the eventual return of this time honored community gathering, continued staffing shortages proved an insurmountable challenge for them to commit this year. Another reminder that we are all still in a tricky time of rebuilding.
The Arts Festival gratefully acknowledges those restaurants who were signed-up to participate; New England Fishmongers, Portsmouth Brewery, River House Restaurant, TOUR, and Two-Fifty Market.
We look forward to bringing the Chowder Festival back next year bigger and better than ever.
But wait… there is still fun to be had! Prescott Park Arts Festival is delighted to offer a Summer Social to the community on the same day, Saturday, June 4th, from 11am – 2pm, or until the ice cream melts.
So come on down to the park for family friendly games and activities, face painting, delicious ice cream, and all of your favorite Prop treats, including a chowder flight from a handful of the Chowder Festival entrants!
For our members, this is your initial chance to pick up your Season Passes.
It will be a festive community gathering to kick-off the summer and celebrate the return of stellar performing arts offerings in the park this season, featuring special performances by Ice Dancers International on the Wilcox Main Stage! The Arts Festival will add to the merriment going on in the South End that day alongside The Gundalow’s Piscataqua Riverfest at Strawbery Banke.
