Call to All Restaurants to Participate in the 24th Annual WOKQ
Chowder Fest

(Portsmouth, NH) - Prescott Park Arts Festival is gearing up for
the 24th Annual WOKQ Chowder Fest. The event will take place on
Saturday June 7, rain date if needed is Sunday June 8, 2008. As
the planning and details come together PPAF reminds restaurants
who are interested in participating to reserve their spot today,
as they fill fast.
"Last year we had huge crowds and over 14 restaurants participate
in the Chowder Fest." states Executive Director Ben Anderson,
"We are anticipating another record breaking year as we kick
off our 34th season of art in the park."
Each year, more than 4,000 people help keep the arts alive and thriving
in Prescott Park by attending New England's largest and oldest chowder
tasting competition. With more than 500 gallons served for tasting,
this event attracts chowder lovers of all kinds.
"The annual Chowder Fest serves as a wonderful community event
not only for PPAF but the restaurants involved as well." says
Anderson. "Restaurants are able to win over $3,600 in advertising
packages from WOKQ and Taste of the Seacoast Magazine and have an
opportunity to promote themselves to the throngs of festival visitors".
After tasting the various chowders available visitors will then
vote for their favorite chowder in the People's Choice Award.
Food Critic, Rachel Forrest, will be providing her judging expertise
for the Judge's Choice Award. Rachel is a former restaurant owner
who lives in Portsmouth. Her column appears Wednesdays in Go&Do.
