APRIL 5, 2006 - PORTSMOUTH, NH – Well it’s over folks! 2,367 votes later, another year of Spotlight Awards has come and gone.

The Spotlight on the Arts Awards were held last night and Prescott Park Arts Festival's 2005 production of Wizard of Oz won!

Best Musical Production - Wizard of Oz, Prescott Park Arts Festival
It was everything fans of the tale could hope for in a live performance of the movie classic – with a few things added and nice special effects.

Actress Musical
Merrill Peiffer: Witch, "Into the Woods," Prescott Park Arts Festival; Magenta "Rocky Horror Show Live," Seacoast Repertory Theatre.
This woman pulled out all the stops for both roles this year, making them exciting and riveting.

Supporting Actor
Chris Curtis: Oberon, "Midsummer Night’s Dream," the Players’ Ring and the Wizard/Professor Marvel in "The Wizard of Oz," Prescott Park Arts Festival.
Curtis imbued both characters with a natural ease, differently and believably. Every expression, every move lent itself to creating a specific, individual - all without ever seeing him act.
