Service Credit Union Movie Series

Remember the fun of the drive-in? Well, it's back and better than ever (minus your car, of course). Now you can enjoy some of your favorite movies under the stars in Prescott Park.

You'll find a giant screen on our stage, incredible sound, HD projector, and concessions to snack on while you enjoy a movie on a blanket, chair (bring your own, or use one of ours), or at one of our tables.

The park will open at 7:00 pm and the movie will start at dusk. Dusk changes over the course of the summer. In July, it is approximately 8:30pm and in August, approximately 7:45pm. We try to start the movies as early as possible, ultimately having to wait for the screen to be dark enough to project a movie on them.

CHECK BACK IN THE SPRING WHEN WE ANNOUNCE THE NEW SEASON OF THE
SERVICE CREDIT UNION MOVIE SERIES.

Here's what we showed in 2012:

The highest-grossing animated film of the 20th century follows a young lion cub named Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Matthew Broderick) who can't wait to be king. But his uncle (Jeremy Irons) craves the title for himself and will stop at nothing - even killing his own brother - to get it.

August 20 - JURASSIC PARK

A multimillionaire (Richard Attenborough) unveils a new theme park where visitors can observe dinosaurs cloned using advanced DNA technology. But when an employee tampers with the security system, the dinosaurs escape, forcing the visitors to fight for their survival. Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern star in this thrilling, action-packed blockbuster from acclaimed director Steven Spielberg and based on the novel by Michael Crichton.

August 27 - INDIANA JONES & THE LAST CRUSADE

Fedora and whip at the ready, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) sets off on his third cinematic outing accompanied by none other than his father, Henry (Sean Connery), to explore the cradle of civilization on a perilous hunt for the Holy Grail. August 30 (THURSDAY) - SHREK

It ain't easy bein' green - especially if you're a likable (albeit smelly) ogre named Shrek (Mike Myers). On a mission to retrieve a gorgeous princess (Cameron Diaz) from the clutches of a fire-breathing dragon, Shrek teams up with an unlikely compatriot - a wisecracking donkey (Eddie Murphy).

September 2 (SUNDAY) - THE LAST WALTZ

In special collaboration with 3S Artspace!

Director Martin Scorcese captures the legendary final concert by The Band, staged at San Francisco's Winterland arena on Thanksgiving Day 1976. Along with revealing interviews, the concert footage features Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Bob Dylan.

September 8 (SATURDAY) - THE DARK KNIGHT

In this blockbuster sequel to Batman Begins, the caped crusader (Christian Bale) teams with Lt. James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) to continue dismantling Gotham City's criminal organizations. But a psychotic new villain known as the Joker (Heath Ledger, in a Golden Globe- and Oscar-winning role) threatens to undo all their good work. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine also star.

September 14 (FRIDAY) - Girl Walk//All Day

We team up with 3S Artspace to send off summer with a once-in-a-lifetime outdoor dance party at 319 Vaughan Street in downtown Portsmouth. Beginning at dusk, we'll screen this acclaimed dance music video, followed by a full on dance party with music supplied by Portland's DJs CDR and RDS.

Beer from Redhook and Flatbread Company pizza will be onsite until the event ends at 11pm.

A stunning and unique feature-length dance music video and tale of urban exploration that follows three dancers across NYC. They turn the city's sidewalks, parks and architecture into an evolving stage as they spread their joy of movement. The project emerged from the Jacob Krupnik's (filmmaker) desire to expand the boundaries of the single-track music video into an epic musical film. Girl Walk//All Day is set to All Day, the album by mash-up musician Gregg Gillis (a.k.a Girl Talk).
