15TH ANNUAL TOMMY GALLANT
JAZZ FESTIVAL

One of the best-loved jazz festivals around. The 15th annual Tommy Gallant Jazz Festival celebrates some of the finest jazz musicians from throughout the Northeast.

This year's line up includes:

JON WHEATLEY QUARTET - Jon Wheatley is a guitarist whose focus is on the straight ahead approach to jazz guitar personified names such as Grant Green, Wes Montgomery and Herb Ellis, to name a few.  Long know for his contributions to such Boston-based ensembles as the White Heat Swing Orchestra, among others, today, we welcome Jon and his quartet with versatile bassist Marty Ballou, drummer Gary Johnson, the talented son of the late Dick Johnson and the local debut of saxophonist Bob Kolb, who will no doubt provide the perfect counterpoint to the group's swinging approach.

PRESS ROOM TRIO - Under the able guidance of Ryan Parker, the Press Room Trio continues to carry on the tradition of Sunday Jazz at the Press Room, one of the longest running weekly jazz events in New Hampshire.  Joining Ryan, bassist Marty Ballou and drummer Les Harris, Jr. are two long-time stalwarts of the Press Room series, Jeff Stout on trumpet and the intimitable Ted Casher on woodwinds.

MARK SHILANSKY TRIO - Pianist Mark Shilansky has long had an affinity for providing the right accompaniment for singers.  Today, Kim Nazarian, a member of the New York Voices, and one of the best jazz singers you may not have heard, joins Mark and his trio of Keala Kaumeheiwa on bass and Mark Walker on drums, along with a TGJF return appearance by trombonist (and Kim's husband) Jay Ashby, who will give the proceedings the right melodic balance.

SEACOAST BIG BAND - Directed by Dave Seiler, this remarkable band "keeps on keepin' on..." as Terry Clark would say.  With a cast of superb local talent that includes saxophonists Charlie Jennison and Marc LaForce, Craig Skeffington on trumpet, and Ken Clark on drums, the SCBB still endures after 30 years on the local scene.  A fitting cap for the 15th Annual Tommy Gallant Jazz Festival as we await the next 15 years.

Join us for the 15th Annual Tommy Gallant Jazz Festival on Sunday, July 11, 2010 - Noon to 5:30pm!
